Tamara Urben-Imbeault is a senior Landscape Designer working in Toronto, Ontario. She has 7 years of experience designing and building landscapes in various Canadian cities. Her primary area of interest is public projects, specifically ecologically or culturally significant public parks. She is very passionate about planting design and using native and medicinal plants that are significant to local First Nations groups.
In her masters thesis, she explored vertical gardening in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The thesis included both research and design components and is a wealth of information for an otherwise rare topic: vertical gardening in cold climates. It is available to view and download in full here.
In her free time, she runs a small business selling carnivorous plants (check it out here) and has completed half of The Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.) exams. She is currently working towards her full OALA membership. Her main hobbies include gardening, reading, travelling, photography, graphic design, and writing.
